OneStep GPS guide

Connect OneStep GPS to TuroReports

Connecting takes two steps: approve access from TuroReports, then add TuroReports inside your OneStep account. Together they take a few minutes.

Before you start

  • Done by the account owner

The TuroReports account owner must connect OneStep GPS. Team members, including admins, can't.

  • Your OneStep sign-in

The email and password for the OneStep account your devices are on.

  • Installed devices

Your devices are installed and your cars appear at track.onestepgps.com.

  • A VIN for each device

TuroReports recognizes each car by its 17-character VIN, so each device in OneStep needs the car's VIN.

Connect OneStep GPS

  1. 1

    Open Settings in TuroReports

Go to www.turoreports.com/rental-hub/settings (opens in a new tab) and sign in if asked. The Connections tab opens first. The account owner must do these steps.

    Approve read-only access on OneStep

TuroReports takes you to OneStep's own sign-in page. Sign in and approve read-only access. TuroReports never sees your OneStep password and can't control your devices.
  4. 4

Check the first step is done

OneStep sends you back to TuroReports, which reads your devices and links each one to the car with the same VIN, adding any car it doesn't have yet. A message starting “OneStep connected.” confirms it, and ends with “One step left: add TuroReports inside OneStep.”
  5. 5

    Click Finish setup in OneStep

Under step 2, Add TuroReports inside OneStep, click Finish setup in OneStep. OneStep opens in a new tab.
  6. 6

Save the TuroReports integration in OneStep

Sign in to OneStep if it asks, then save the TuroReports integration. This turns on the GPS your toll reports use. Back in TuroReports, step 2 shows “Waiting for OneStep's first data. This step checks itself, usually within a few minutes of saving.” You don't need to do anything else.

You're connected when

The OneStep page shows a green Connected badge, the checklist reads OneStep is set up, and step 2 says “OneStep is sending your GPS data” with the time it last received data.

Amber “Finish setup” badge?

Step 1 is done but OneStep hasn't sent data yet. Finish step 2, or see step 2 doesn't tick.

After you connect

  • Trips start once data flows. TuroReports receives GPS from the moment OneStep starts sending. Trips driven before that aren't brought in automatically; if you need them, contact TuroReports support.
  • Every OneStep device is shared. OneStep shares all the devices on your account. New ones are linked within a day, or click Sync vehicles to link them right away.
  • Each device shows when data last arrived. Under Connected vehicles, each device shows "Data received" with a time, or "No data received yet".
  • OneStep works as before. Connecting doesn't change your OneStep account, your devices or the OneStep app.
